Our Curriculum
We believe in a child-centered approach to teaching and learning where children's’ interests, needs and questions drive the learning forward.
Phonics Academia offers an enriched British curriculum with an international perspective for students in preschool through grade 10 and is one of the few reasonably priced private schools in Lahore to offer best standards of education The curriculum is based on British standards and best practice research, and the language of instruction is in English. The framework that we provide can be adapted to meet the specific needs of a child. It ensures children have some control over their own learning, and access to materials and equipment that they may require. Children are required to make a decision about what they would like to choose to fit into their day. Each day we plan exciting and stimulating activities based on the children’s interests, learning and development. The children follow an exciting play-do-review curriculum, with a balance of child and teacher-initiated activities to stimulate and develop every child.
Four Divisions, One Curriculum Framework
The curriculum framework defines our approach to learning, pedagogy, assessment and reporting across all divisions at Phonics Academia and supports continuity in learning for all students moving through our school. It's characterized by the following five key components:

| Pedagogy | An approach to teaching and learning that allows students to actively construct meaning through engagement in relevant experiences enabling them to acquire new levels of understanding as opposed to the simple memorization of content. |
| Assessment & Reporting | A range of strategies that provides information on student understanding, allowing the teacher to plan the subsequent teaching and learning activities. Student progress is reported in a timely and appropriate manner. |
Phonics Academia offers a value-based British education.
The Curriculum has been carefully designed for children of all abilities and learning styles, and encourages individual and group work competencies. Our students experience success; acquiring and developing skills, knowledge and understanding as part of a ‘Spiral Curriculum’ children are seen as unique individuals with strengths and abilities that are continually developing and we observe and support this in a developmentally appropriate way. This means that each ‘Key Stage’ ensures that curriculum content and learning goals build on each prior Key Stage and prepare students for transition into the next. The English National curriculum provides a structured learning journey from the age of 3 to 15 years. The Early Years Foundation stage (age 3 years) is followed by a sequence of 5 "Key Stages". When children start at Phonics Academia they are placed in year groups based on their age on 31st March. Progress between Year Groups is usually automatic, although students may be out of their age group for exceptional reasons. Year Groups are clustered into Key Stages and a defined curriculum is produced for each Key Stage. Throughout each Key Stage there are ongoing assessments to monitor and track each child’s academic progress

As students’ progress through the key stages, they build knowledge in a wide range of academic subjects, including core English, Urdu, Mathematics and Science disciplines, and a variety of humanities and linguistic programs, including some optional course.
Age-appropriate learning styles and resources are adopted throughout the school, with play-based learning in our youngest classrooms gradually progressing to more independent learning styles and complex subject matter. This journey gives students the opportunity to find their own academic strengths and interests in a variety of subjects before moving on to the more focused academic content for their selected matriculation program, chosen by students with specific collages and career paths in mind.
