With this in mind, we encourage our students to participate in a rich and diverse program of extra-curricular activities, giving them the opportunity to enrich their school experience within a safe and supportive environment. Phonics Academia provides a rich extra-curricular program that supports student’s all-round development, providing opportunities for students to develop talents and explore new interests. Activities include both individual pursuits and team building activities for students from Key Stage 2 onwards. We offer a range of inspiring extra-curricular clubs to spark and develop our pupils’ interests beyond the curriculum. Our enthusiastic team of teachers run clubs at lunchtime and after school.
Extra-Curricular opportunities are primarily delivered through the school zero period activities program, which is open to children from (age 5) upwards. A selection of “Zero Period” activities is available for children in Year 1 and 2. From Year 3 upwards, all students are required to participate in at least one activity per week, but many students are involved in two or more activities per week.
The School’s multipurpose sports complex definitely lives up to its name, not only providing an arena for indoor sports and exhibitions, but also serving as a second venue for concerts and events. The area accommodates, and has specialist lighting for, sports such as indoor football, cricket, basketball, golf, boxing, badminton, table tennis and Martial Arts. The School has additional music and drama areas including a variety of large and small spaces suitable for practice, rehearsals and performances, as well as for class and individual instrumental teaching. Students at Phonics Academia participate in a variety of Extracurricular activities, which provide opportunities to further exercise their intellectual, artistic, and athletic skills and help foster qualities of leadership, decision making, and teamwork.
