The approach at Phonics Academia is about transforming learning and ensuring that students are future-ready, adaptable, and forward-thinking learners.

Phonics Academia believes that information and communication technology is a key enabler for teaching and learning in a modern and progressive curriculum. We follow an integrated approach in ICT. We appreciate that technology is no longer a part of studies, but students work with technology. Growth in technology means facilities of the School must evolve and match up the contemporary and modern needs. We create ICT facilities that cater to specific needs of the School. This ranges from deployment of a few PCs to implementation, management and support of an ICT requirement.

The hi-tech computer lab makes the students tech-savvy and keeps them abreast with the latest techniques & that teaches not just computer as a subject, but also, the integration of computer skills for learning of other subjects in the curriculum.

Phonics Academia School’s computer lab is well organized and well equipped with cutting edge computers, projectors and Interactive Boards. ICT teacher take utmost care to provide every student with first-hand knowledge of computer science. Every student at Phonics Academia gets the chance of practical application of his/ her knowledge of computer science.

Our lives are so influenced by technology today that it is important that the children are scientifically and technologically literate. The school has computer lab with more than 20 computers. The school follows the British Curriculum for Information Technology to keep our children ahead in this IT-enabled world.

Students are given training on advanced software like MS-Word, MS-PowerPoint, Excel, Web Designing etc. Students also take hands-on experience on computers by working on wallpapers, screen savers, paint, notepad, calculator etc. Apart from these, computers are also used as a knowledge imparting tool to teach various subjects to students using multimedia.

Students can access a wide variety of software applications and hardware resources which contribute immensely toward our holistic and efficient teaching and learning process. We have installed sound and video systems, networked computers and many more to aid our work. This networked universe of multi-media will not only enable students become computer savvy but teach them programming skills and other abilities that are a must in the Information Age.

“Technology should be like oxygen: ubiquitous, necessary and everywhere.” With that in mind, technology is embedded where appropriate in the learning at Phonics Academia.

Phonics Academia has increased its emphasis on coding and students use the Botley robotic as well as code.org and other tools to try their hand at programming.
