Phonics Academia - We Shape Character

Our library is a friendly place where our community is inspired and challenged to think critically, read widely, act ethically, value creativity and defend the right to access to information. Phonics Academia Library is a proactive learning area where students and teachers have access to a wide range of resources in an array of formats in order to cater to all their learning needs. Phonics Academia Library is the best place to read without any disturbance. It provides quality fiction and nonfiction books that encourage to read more for pleasure and enrich our intellectual, artistic, cultural, social and emotional growth.

All students, starting from a 3-year old, check out library resources on a regular basis. Library lessons are conducted in order to impart basic skills required for optimum use of the resources available.The School library has sections ranging from textbooks and reference books to fiction and general knowledge. Since the school aims at making learning a fun process, there is an assortment of books and magazines available on general topics and separate sections for hobby-related books, books on travel, animal care, short stories, drama, poetry, astrology and other topics. Students can take reference from a wide range of books to complete our school assignments. We can also refer books for making notes and preparing for exams. It also helps in developing vocabulary, reading and writing skills.

It is a cozy and intimate space with seating room for approximately 24 students. The atmosphere is lively, enthusiastic, and filled with energy. School Library is situated in a convenient location on the ground floor of the main building. With lots of natural light, the library welcomes both students and staff to research, read and study in a peaceful environment. The Library is also home to the “Writing Center”; students can come to seek writing assistance and support the student coaches who are available during lunch and after school.

The library offers resources and programs designed to foster a lifelong love of books and reading, and to help students develop critically important research and digital literacy skills.With a collection of more than 1000 books and periodicals, a robust selection of online resources, and specialized e-book platforms for students in the Junior and Senior Schools, the Library aims to meet the needs of all learners.

The librarian works with subject teachers to ensure the connection between the resources and the topics covered in the classroom. Helping students develop their information literacy, digital citizenship skills, their commitment to academic honesty as well as their desire to read for pleasure.

LIBRARY RULES

Teachers here utilize the latest and most effective teaching methods, advocating the responsible use of technology while inspiring curious inquiry. Our sustainable way of learning ensures students understand and demonstrate values of international mindedness, mutual respect, civic responsibility and global citizenship. Student voice is at the center of our community, inspiring a hunger for learning and a lifelong commitment to social responsibility.

Students are not allowed to bring their personal books inside the library. One notebook may be brought with the permission of the librarian.
All students must get books issued before taking them out of the library.
Any reader who damages the furniture, spoils the library property shall have to make up for the damage.
No reader is allowed to remove/shift library furniture from one place to another unless directed to do so.
The school library is open to all students of the school timings from 8 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. on all working days. All classes are provided with at least one library period per week.
Each student of classes pre-school to matriculation is issued a library card with a photograph. One book is issued for a period of one week at a time.
Students are allowed to borrow books only on their own cards.
They must maintain absolute silence in the library.
Books marked, disfigured, damaged, OR Lost will have to be replaced or paid for, by the borrower.
The library has an open shelf system and students must help to maintain order and organization in the different shelves. They must put the books on the tables after consultation, and not just anywhere on the shelves.
Students are not allowed to bring their personal books or belongings into the library.
Any child found damaging or defacing a book; will be debarred from using the library for the whole academic year.
Reference books, magazines and periodical publications are to be read in the library only.
