Secondary School Curriculum

The Secondary School curriculum at Phonics Academia focuses on supporting young, confident adults to reach their potential in line with our Phonics Academia Learner Skills. Students should leave us prepared to face the challenges of college or university life and beyond. Phonics Academia Secondary provides a compelling new ground-up style of education that, as well as achieving good academic qualifications, looks at what skills and qualities will most benefit our students and how we can help them to develop. These are skills like creativity, resilience, confidence, teamwork and leadership. In order to appropriately prepare students for their future, we also need a school that best simulates the varied tasks and challenges they will face as adults.
Throughout Key Stage 5, pupils continue to be given experience in, and the opportunity to learn and make progress in, linguistic, mathematical, scientific, human and social, physical and aesthetic and creative education. Subjects are brought to life through project work, assembly presentations and exhibitions focusing on Science, Mathematics and other areas of the curriculum

Key Stage 4: Year 7-10, Age 12-15

Phonics Academia provides education of the highest quality to every individual pupil, in an environment small enough for every teacher to know every pupil. This ethos now extends to Secondary, where pupils learn within a bright, modern and inspiring environment. Although we are small, we do not compromise on the quality and expertise of the teaching we offer, nor on the breadth and depth of our curriculum.
Phonics Academia Secondary now welcomes pupils into Years 7, 8, 9& 10 (ages 12-15) in its state-of-the-art environment A school centered around enquiry, creativity, expression and enjoyment, Phonics Academia Secondary offers an education that best prepares pupils with the skills and attributes they will need in their future lives.
